MISSION:

Miracles for Life® (MFL) is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds to promote organ transplantation as one of the world’s greatest medical achievements and recognize the individuals touched by organ transplantation. We celebrate donors and recipients, as well as organ donation advocates, like medical professionals and volunteers, as heroes. We strive to make these organ donor heroes a focus in the public eye, raising organ donor awareness, thus increasing the consent rate.

VISION :

Miracles for Life is a non-profit foundation established to raise awareness of the widespread benefits of organ and tissue donation. Although widely used as a medical treatment for numerous diseases, birth defects, and burn and accident victims, the benefits of organ and tissue donation are not yet understood by much of the American public. We strive to increase awareness of the miracle of organ and tissue donation, and acknowledge organ donation as one of the greatest medical achievements by recognizing organ donor heroes and advocates. We strive to reset societal and cultural norms, to make checking "yes" the standard. Our goal is to eradicate negative cultural stigmas and increase the consent rate.

We can achieve all this by celebrating organ donor heroes everywhere, emphasizing the impact that organ donors have by giving so many a second chance at life. By celebrating the success of these medical achievements, we enable informed consent for organ donors and encourage families to follow the wishes of their loved ones.

HOW THE FUNDS WILL BE USED:

Contributions, donations, and monies raised by Miracles of Life will be put toward recognizing transplantation heroes and advocates. Our scholarship program annually awards scholarships to children of organ donor or recipient families who write essays expressing their personal encounter with an organ transplantation and its effect on their view of transplantation. While the student receives the scholarship, the hero receives a Miracles for Life Bracelet. MFL also recognizes deserving champions of transplantation through the MFL Hall of Fame and the MFL Hall of Heroes.
