Tom, his wife Anne, and his brother Larry, a professional baseball trainer, founded Miracles for Life, Inc. to promote the benefits of organ transplants. Miracles for Life, Inc. secures and distributes funds to promote:
• Programs that recognize and assistant organ donor families
• Regional and nationally coordinated organ donor awareness campaigns
• Scholarships for our “Heroes” — those who have been touched by organ donation
Since his liver transplant at UCLA Medical in 1988, Tom has appeared on numerous TV and radio shows and in a series of video productions, promoting organ donor awareness. He is a member of the Kidney Foundation of Greater Cincinnati, a founding member of the PediaHope Foundation of Great Falls, VA. and the Joanne Barr Foundation, of Bel Aire, CA. Tom has raised millions of dollars for various foundations through creative event marketing programs.
Tom created Pegasus Production, LLC, a talent booking and event consulting company to raise funds for the organ transplant industry and is the chief architect of the Organ Transplant Response System (OTRS). OTRS uses wireless internet enabled laptop computers to improve the organ procurement process.
Tom is the chief architect and current Chairman for The Sales and Entrepreneur Centre at Ohio University, dedicated to enhancing the image of the sales professional through comprehensive research, experiences, training and education. Tom is also a member of the Professional Advisory Board for the College of Engineering, the Ohio University Alumni Board, a member of Ohio University of the Trustees and a frequent contributor the Ohio University MBA Without Boundaries program.
Tom has been an independent consultant to numerous startups including The Impact-Group, an international training-consulting firm. Tom was the catalyst for the development of the first web-based system for the real-time capture and distribution of organ donor data on a laptop computer. Tom's recently created Meant2Be an Application Service Provider (ASP) of process-based, industry-focused web services portals for improving the supply chain of the organ transplant community.
Tom’s most recent program is centered on the Miracle Life Bracelet and other jewelry designed around the infinity symbol that features celebrities wearing the jewelry, inspiring meaningful conversations about the need for organ donors.
During his 30 plus years at Xerox, Tom has held numerous headquarters and field positions including product management, sales management, sales training and head of international marketing operations. Currently, Tom is responsible for the marketing and sales activities of several hundred people for Xerox Special Information Systems in the Midwest. Tom has reached #1 numerous times as a sales executive and sales manager.
Tom and his wife Anne live in Blue Ash, Ohio where Tom pursues his passions for his family, flying and golf. Their son James, daughter-in-law Amy, and grandson Riley live in Sarasota, Florida.
iracles for Life® (MFL) is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds to promote organ transplantation as one of the world’s greatest medical achievements and recognize the individuals touched by organ transplantation. We celebrate donors and recipients, as well as organ donation advocates, like medical professionals and volunteers, as heroes. We strive to make these organ donor heroes a focus in the public eye, raising organ donor awareness, thus increasing the consent rate.
